Is there a way to cut (edit) a DRM iTunes video file (without stripping off the DRM)? I don't need to be able to play the file, I just want to cut out, say, a 30 second segment of the file.
Another question: Is it OK to post a link to a 30 second iTunes DRM video file (for test purposes) on this website?

No, you most likely wouldn't be able to cut or edit the track without removing the DRM.
What would you hope to accomplish with what you're asking in the second question? If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
I just thought if I can post a link to 30 second Itunes DRM video file, then other people who are interested in testing video DRM removal software, (such as RM Capture) can have ready access to a DRM file. I don't know what is the policy on this
website about linking to a 30 second copyrighted video file that is cut from a 45 minute TV show, is it OK or not? -
It's probably not that difficult to get an iTunes video file (with DRM). But the same would apply about cutting/editing a DRM audio track - you can't just cut or edit a DRM video into smaller playable segments (etc.) without removing the DRM. You CAN cut the binary file, yes, but then the segment would most likely just become a random collection of bytes that a player - or even iTunes - wouldn't know what to do with.

Yep, I tried the various video cutting tools and can't input the M4V file which is the itunes DRM video file. I tried using the WM Capture program to record the video when played in itunes player, but I think you could do better just mounting a cheap video camera on a tripod in front of the computer. And this was on a late model Vista computer. The motion was jerky and not as clear as the original. I don't understand why there aren't any programs (from Chinese type countries) that just directly strip off the DRM instead of capturing in real time.
