I'm trying to convert a avi file to dvd using tmpgenc plus 2.5. When I use the wizard in tmpgenc and choose dvd and choose the avi file the system locks up. Thanks for the help

Forget the wizard. If you need a wizard to use TMPGenc Plus, you'll have similar problems with free software like avstoDVD (the latter not that great an encoder anyway) or HCenc. Here is one of many TMPGenc guides http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/video/convert-tmpg.htm . Likely, Service Pack 3 is the problem. You can always uninstall TMPGenc and reinstall. Microsoft service packs almost always cause problems somewhere, somewhere, with something. If you haven't used TMPGenc's advanced interface and image controls, you don't know what you're missing.
