I purchased a Samsung Blue-Ray player a few weeks ago.

Did a setup following the handbook and everything is running fine.

But I have some problems with the Smart-TV section.
I have dropped the same question to Samsung, but did not received a response yet (and I don't think they will ever send an answer).

First problem is the language section.
When I use the Smart-TV on my Blue-Ray player and browse trough YouTube, I can only select the European languages.
How can I get Asian languages on my OS keyboard?

    Second problem:
I can only browse the applications offered by Samsung.
I have a subscription to a Cloud provider and have stored many photo's there.
I would get access from my Blue-Ray Smart player to my Cloud provider.
Is it possible to write a (Java?) application and insert it in the Blue-Ray player (update?) or run it from a USB memory stick?

    TIA

Did you buy this BluRay player outside of Thailand? DVD and BluRay players sold outside of Asia rarely support Asian languages.

The BluRay player and TV very likely only support connecting to specific applications or websites. Is it possible to write an application that could reach your cloud player? Maybe. But can YOU do it? Probably not. It's one of those things that if you have to ask about it then you don't know what is necessary to do it. This would be proprietary information at Samsung and not something they are going to share so some consumer like you can write his own apps. Samsung discourages users in general from updating Samsung hardware. For example, firmware patches exist for Samsung HDTVs but they are almost impossible for consumers to find and not available through the normal Samsung website.

I bought this Blue-Ray player in Thailand.
In the General Settings I can set the language to Thai.
But not in the applications (eg,: YouTube).

The Blue-Ray player has a JAVA sign on the back.
I can write programs in Java.
But I will need information from Samsung on how to download it to the Blue-Ray player.

Many of the available Samsung applications are written by third-party programmers.
    So, it should be possible.

Better to get a dumb TV and a smart network player, like Roku, that is leading the streaming revolution and constantly adding new sources.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

BluRay players are NOT your best option for a "smart box". They use the web as an afterthought, and are tied to that playback hardware.

Example: They want to add "AVCHD2" now for 60fps playback, and that forces you to buy a new player. Everything they do is geared towards keeping optical disc going (mo money), rather than network streaming (cheaper).

    Had a look at Roku.

    Looks very nice.
    But useless in Thailand.
Streaming video is something we can only dream on.
And 3/4th of the foreign Internet channels are blocked.
Even on YouTube, a lot of the video's show on my screen: "This video has been blocked by ...".

3G is coming up very slowly and is only available in the big cities.
Speed of 3G is a whooping 3 MB/s for the first 500 MB and then it drops to less than 2 kb/s.

Well, don't go to the airport with any drugs. Did those two girls ever get out of prison? They had Yankee Hank for a lawyer.

P.S. Hope this post doesn't set off their security, and they come and throw you in the tank too.
