Can anyone give me a list of the render settings I need to use to prepare my clips for upload to iStock?
my original files are MXF HD1080 50i (from Canon XF100) into Sony vegas 11 and want to render the finished project aa a Quick time .mov as required by Istock.
I have found a couple of posts that give me most of them but they annoyingly miss out one or two things.
Firstly when I select Quick time 7 in Vegas it firstly gives me a list of "bit rates" before I get to the render setting window.
Which one?
Then I assume its a custom template I select in order to keep my files as close to the original as possible? (HD 1080-50I 1920X1080,25FPS)
So what should all the different boxes say in the Video and audio tabs in order to keep best quality and satisfy those stern people from iStock?
Phew!!

I have "RTFM" but my problem is that poor little old me dont comprende completely.
There is no mention of Bit rate?
3:1 and 95% best is all very well but these figures do not appear in my vegas options? I assume they are called something else or perhaps best is a "Standard thing" (I dont know!!)
I can see a "Best" but is it the right one?
What about all the other boxes in vegas? (frame rate, field order, pixel aspect, compressed depth etc etc etc?)
should i leave the default settings in the streaming tab ? or should I disable?
All of those questions and more are not addressed in "TFM"
Basically I was hoping someone could give me a definitive list of the options specifically for Vegas 11pro before i have to learn by my mistakes.
....and are you the only person on this forum?
Thank god theres someone out there!
Keep up the good work!
..and when my first movie grosses a few million I will shower you with gold!! or perhaps a Ferrari? -
hehe. i guess i should have rtfm, i don't think vegas can render mjpeg in mov without installing a separate mjpeg codec. sounds like they are apple fanbois. you may have to render out lossless and then use a different encoder. maybe quicktime pro? or find a mjpeg codec that will work under the render to windows avi template.

Thanks I'll have a look at that but I would ideally like to try and go straight from Vegas if at all possible!
as I said above it looks like Vegas 11 pro does actually have the capacity to render MJPEG directly.
