I've completed editing out the crappy bits in Vegas's timeline. How can I now permanently delete these unwanted bits to save HDD space, without rendering?
Thanks.

What's the source format? Some formats have to be rerendered even if you've just made simple cuts. Some editors are smart enough to just rerender/reencode around the cuts, some reencode the whole kaboodle.

That's some mpg file. Don't know about Vegas, but dedicated mpg editors (like Womble) can save out without reencoding the whole video.
It's called "smart rendering" or the like. A prerequisite is that you save in the same format as the source, of course.

I really don't know - anyone with Vegas experience listening in?
