    Copy the disc.
While ripping, region protection is removed.

DVD Decrypter works for most TV shows and movies.
DVDFab Decrypter for "big budget" movies made after 2006 or so.

Then you must have one of the VERY RARE players that requires the disc to have the same region code as the player.....very old Sony players had this....OR....like the same Sony players...it won't play home-made discs at all.
It is possible to assign a region code to a disc. I've only seen that option(assign a region code before burning) in DVDShrink however.....maybe that option is in DVDDecrypter or ImgBurn as well.

We don't even have your player listed in our DVD Players list. Some players can't be unlocked - ever. I checked and your remote control really doesn't have numbers on it. That means that either the instructions you found are bogus or they are for a different model with a different remote or you have to buy a special remote (which may or may not work). We have unlock instructions on a different Panasonic DVD player with a similar model number and one post warns that the ISO that is linked to is actually destructive and will brick your player. I can't rule out that for some bizarre reason that some person may be messing with Panasonic owners and it could be that they deliberately posted instructions that are wrong. They may know that your remote has no numbers on it and that you can't ever do this and they're just messing with you.

Put your DVD that you made in DVD Decrypter and verify what region is on it. It should not have any region on it. If it does then you did something wrong. What hech54 says could well be correct. Additionally I suppose it could be some crazy issue that the player won't play region free discs as well. I am not 100% sure, but offhand I do not recall DVDDecrypter or ImgBurn as being able to set any regions.

I found a copy of the manual online and it says that this player is only guaranteed to work with DVD-R media. This is very critical and it could be that your real issue is that you are using DVD+R media. DVD players have a limited number of responses they can give to error situations and bogus responses are well known. Your player may actually be trying to tell you in a truly terrible way "Hey - use DVD-R media on me". For the best chance of success, use only Verbatim discs. Definitely check your region code on your burned disc as I said above and if your disc is DVD+R and DVD Decrypter says it's region free, blame +R media. You also need to be aware that the manual warns that ALL DL discs, be they -R or +R, may not play at all on this player if made on a PC. This also could be your problem. It really sucks, but to get this to work you are probably not only going to have to rip but you're going to have to shrink your discs to single layer size.

Dude, maybe you need to just throw this piece of crap player away. You live in Australia so by law the manufacturers HAVE to provide region free DVD players there. Philips still makes plenty of players that can be made region free that are cheap. We've even had reports that Samsung and Sony players in Australia can be unlocked and they are almost impossible to unlock outside of Australia. Modern DVD players don't play that +/- game any more where they only fully support one of them.

Yep....DVDShrink is the only one I know of that can manually assign a region to a disc.

    Buy a new DVD player.
    Or find a new wife.

The first one is probably the better of the two solutions.
