Hi-
I know this may be impossible, but I thought I would ask anyway or maybe someone could offer an option if it's available.
I've recorded two teachers speaking for 1 hr and 45 minutes. My boss wants the video posted online. What I've done so far is split the entire length into about 30 minute blocks which I think will be manageable. Now for the question...
Is the a way to create some type of reference link that will take the viewer directly to a section in the video? For example, if I had one teacher speaking for 5 minutes on core standards 11 minutes into the first 30 minute block, is there a way to take them there directly there without having to watch the entire thirty minutes and wait to happen on it?
Thanks,
Mark

Not impossible.
It is discussed (in principle) here:

The BBC here in the UK have just released a new player for thier online service which does just this so ultimately it all depends on what you refer to as 'online'. So, as with the above topic, youtube and similar - no chance. Use a dedicated streaming server with scripts etc. then it can be done.
So if youtube, or similar, is your goal then you can only really achieve this by splitting the entire video in to its component parts and the user can then just chose to watch whichever part he wants to. -
Thanks.
As it turns out, Techsmith's Camtasia Studio does exactly what I need. You can add markers in the timeline which export as a table of contents linking to where ever you set those markers to in the original video. Works perfect.
