  1. I want to pass a video I have in AVI to a TV guy who will put it on sat TV in Europe. He says that he needs the file in mpg to view on his Mac. What free tool can I use to make the conversion and what settings should I use? The MPG format is new to me.

    Thanks!

    Try Format Factory. It's free.

  6. I am guessing that he looks at on his Mac in MPG format and that is the same format they use to stream it up to the satellite for TV broadcast?
So I guess my question is how do I need to massage my video so it is ready to beam up from TV broadcast if the Sat TV company is Mac based?

If you just need to convert to avi to mpeg i recocmend HCenc. Inmo it's pretty much the best mpeg encoder.
Murphy's law taught me everything I know.
