    How do i convert an AVI file to mpg so i can then author with dvd architect?

    I have sony vegas but it doesnt open the avi file for some reason?

    There are several varieties of AVI files. Use GSpot to determine yours. Vegas likes DV-AVI, but will choke (like most editing programs) on Divx / Xvid AVIs. There are a lot of MPEG-2 encoders listed in the Tools section of this site. Most people like ConvertXtoDVD for easily converting just about any type of video file to MPEG-2.

    thanks, i mamanged to use DVDFlick for it as when you keep the working files you get the m2v & ac3 aswell as mpg...
