  1. Hi,

I have a trange problem. I encoded a Space 1999 DVD in mkv format by using HandBrake.
When I'm looking to the videos, I'm seeing the image shaking a little bit. I mean the image is like freezing (jerky) a very small fraction of second then being fluid for a time. I took a Zone 2 PAL DVD and convert it to Zone 1 NTSC. All the time the image is perfectly clean.

    Any help will be welcome.

leave it at 25fps pal if you don't want visual problems caused by frame rate conversion.

Your resolution is too large for NTSC video. I do not use Handbrake so I cannot comment on that, but conversions between PAL<->NTSC frame rates in either direction can result in what you are seeing. I do not know how the source PAL DVD was created but given how many production houses botch this kind of thing, there is always some chance that PAL DVD was produced in a non-optimal way, such as converted from an NTSC master rather than a film frame rate master. You may wish to post a very short (10-15 seconds) excerpt from the original PAL DVD as some here can examine it and determine what exactly you have to deal with and whether this kind of conversion can be done any better in Handbrake if you really must produce NTSC compatible output from it.
