Avisynth plugins are better.
Yadif mode is fast but no high quality image.
QTGMC mode is slow but higher quality image.
Script QTGMC
DirectShowSource("video.mpg")
AssumeTFF() or AssumeBFF()
QTGMC( Preset="Slow" )

Preset="Faster" is still better than this + better use DGDecode/MpegSource or FFVideosource instead of using DirectShowSource with mpeg content,..

Why are you deinterlacing in the first place?
If this is for recording and watching on a TV, leave it interlaced.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

And if you're playing on a computer just use a player that deinterlaces on the fly.

De-interlacing will be lossy ,unless you de-interlace to a double frame rate ( i60 to p60 in America,or i50 to p50 in Europe ) (I don't know how to do so).
If you de-interlace to p30 or p25, you will lose fluidity ,and that's a trouble for sport stuff ...
So, play your videos as they are and use a player that can play interlaced stuff well.
Troubles may also come when you resize interlaced stuff.Last edited by misermidas; 18th Apr 2012 at 03:13.
