  1. Basically I'm trying to encode a video that includes two episodes, every tool I've tried up to press only manages to encode up to 25 mins of the complete 1:36 mins of video, yet the tools I've used seem to complete without errors(albeit too quickly) as far as I can tell. The source video plays back fine.

Edit : I seem to have jumped the gun a little the source has errors(slight pause and a few secs blockiness) around the point of failure but continues to playback.

Any way I can fix the video(stream?) to enable me to encode it successfully?

The properties of the source are as follows :

    Have a great day

  4. Use MKVMergeGUI (part of MKVToolNix) to resave the MKV or to split it into two segments and encode each separately.
You could also enlighten us as to which programs you've used to try to convert it. If the original video continues to play despite the glitch, then encoding via DirectShow would probably work.

    Hech,

Don't be silly. It's obvious he already has the DVD and his first rip-n-reencode didn't go very well. Probably didn't realize that he'd would like to take the the two seperate episodes and join them together later. So, he created them as two seperate files and muxed them together in an .mkv.

    Egotomb,
Re-rip from the episodes from the DVDs to the same video and audio codecs and bitrates. Merging them will be much easier.
    Have a good one,

    neomaine
