I have some TV episodes that I ripped from Blu Ray to MKV for watching on my laptop. Now, I want to change them back to M2TS so I can watch them on my PS3. I have done this many times before using tsMuxeR with no issues at all. I always set compression to "None," or else I get an "Invalid H264 NAL unit size" error. For some reason, whenever I use tsMuxeR to convert to M2TS, the stream comes out totally scrambled.

I used the latest version of mkvmerge (5.4.0) to make the MKVs originally, so I don't know why I am having any issue changing them back to M2TS now.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Aren't these programs for converting the streams though? I don't want to convert the streams, just repackage them in a new container so my PS3 will recognize them. I just don't understand why tsMuxeR suddenly stopped working when I updated to the new version. I didn't know if it was something simple like a setting change or if I should revert back to a prior version.

Try mkvtomp4 for repack to mp4(m4v) format, compatible with PS3.

THey are just remuxing. You can also use mkv2vob. But most are based on tsmuxer so they might not work.

Well that is odd. I used mkv2vob and it worked fine using the files I made with mkvmerge 5.4.0. It looks like something is off with my tsMuxeR settings but I have no idea what it could be. I am positive that I have used tsMuxeR successfully in the past to do just this.

Oh well, at least I got it working. Thanks for the help guys.
