  1. Well thanks to the board, I've managed to make my first VCD

1/ Downloaded AVI file from File sharing site.
2/ Changed the format from AVI to MPEG using tmpeg, saving image to disk.
3/ burnt to disk using Neroburn.. and it worked............Still a little jumpy though.....Must need to play with the settings a little.

Anyway I'll get to the point..........One of my films was joined making the size of the file to big to burn........So I cut it using tmpeg to half the file size, Then burnt it to disk. But for some reason it didn't work on my dvd....anyone got any idea's? Also does anyone know the best settings to use in tmpeg to convert from avi 2 mpeg for VCD?

Thanks again to everyone who contributes to this board
Its a great board helping people out.. Many thanks

If you peruse the other postings you'll see many regarding playing a VCD in a DVD player... the main things to check are:

    - does your DVD player support VCDs?
    - does your DVD player support the type of media you are using (ie CDR or CDRW)?

Check your manual or the DVD compatibility list on this site.

If it does support VCD try to burning a VCD onto a CDRW rather than a CDR. If you are going to erase a CDRW, do a Full Erase not a Quick one.

  3. Hi Snakebyte. I've played copied VCDs on my DVD before. I think it didn't like me cutting the film, which made it playup.....As for the others I think I need to play with the settings in Tmpeg a little to try and get them right. Just wondered if anyone knew the best settings to use. Thanks for your reply Tony
