  1. I recorded a game with fraps and look how big the output files are.
    These are 20GB in total.

I'm trying to get these onto youtube in 1080p but I need to convert them first. Which format should I convert these to? I take it 2GB is the maximum for youtube. I have vegas and Freemake.

Get VIDCODER/RIPBOT264, select MP4/X264 container/codec, audio AAC 224 and set 10.000 to bitrate. 650MB more or less

  4. Ok guys here's an update:

I used freemake to join the files and create an MP4 with h264 codec and 15,000 bitrate.
The output file was about 1.1GB. It was all fine and dandy but the video was freezing and cutting out for 2 minutes. It also had some audio sync issues. I tried it again but the problem was the same.

I then used Vegas and created an MP4 with the "AVC" format. The result is nice and the video doesn't freeze or cut out. However, the video looks a bit fuzzier than the one Freemake created. I presume this is because Vegas uses AVC instead of h264? Is there a better way to do this in Vegas for ultimate quality?

Use Virtualdub (append AVI segment) to create 1 file only, save using (Direct Stream Copy to audio/video) , after this VIDCODER or RIPBOT264 to encoder your video.

PS: DXTORY beat FRAPS in every feature (Strip HD video record mode, one file mode, various codecs, Configs to processor, many threads...) try it.
