I just purchased a HP bd340 for my computer in order to burn videos from my HS-900 Camcorder. It came with a Verbatim BD/RE disc. I tried to burn some HD video to the BD player. "Disc initialization has failed 0x8750F108". Does anyone know what is going on.

Moving you to our blu-ray authoring/burning section.

Please give more information. What software are you using? Are you making a standard Blu-ray or a AVCHD or just hd files on a bdr? etc

And some blu-ray players does not support bdr media.

    Not enough info.

    1) The disc is bad.
    2) The burning software is bad.
    3) You're using the software incorrectly.
    4) The software is failing to initialize the disc (it's rewritable).
    5) You don't actually have a BD burner.
    6) You're trying to write more than the capacity of the BD disc (25 GB).

Use the free ImgBurn as your burning software for best results and the best chance of success.

  4. Try to full erase it with ImgBurn. If that fails, the disc is bad.

Maybe it's just me, but I've had 50% BD-REs bad right out of the packaging. They were Verbatims BTW. Funny, I've burned hundreds of BDRs without a hitch.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

OK, I am using Panasonic's HD Writer 3.0, it came with my HS900 Camcorder. I have a BD burner Model HPbd340. If I use Nero to burn other BD no problems, but when I use the Panasonic software it won't even let me get past step 1, it will say disk which data cannot be written on inserted. Replace or format disc. When I try to format it, it says that disc initialization has failed. I used panasonic, sony, verbatim, and a maxell bd. They can't all be bad because they work when I use Nero to burn BD discs.

    Please help.

Use ImgBurn for best results. Nero is pretty crappy for a lot of tasks but it's actually OK for erasing discs. Since your disc will not erase I would say that most likely it is simply bad. See fritzi93's post. It happens.
