  1. Hello, my dvd player (nikoj brand - some MTK clone I think) wont eject any disc. When i press the eject button, he shuts down.
He started to do that when I upgraded his firmware with bbk935.bin file so that he can read subtitles from divx.
Can someone please tell me what to do? Why he shuts down when I want to eject and how can I downgrade firmware to previous state when he was working fine?
    Thanks in advance

Two options I can think of - you probably have an eject button on your remote - try that first.

Second at least on computer drives there is a little eject hole that can be manually operated with a straightened paper clip. Some settop models may also have this feature. You may try looking for a little pinhole on the front of the unit near the tray to see if there is a manual eject hole available.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

I wouldn't use this too often if you can find another way.

My DVD drive would not eject normally, I might have to press eject 20 or more times before it worked, so I resorted to using the pin-eject. But after a few months that got less reliable and eventually failed too and so I had to throw it away. It was 4 or 5 years old though.

Quite frankly I suspect the update may have damaged the drive, or it was failing anyway. Computers being consumer electronics are prone to abruptly shutting off, or down when something is wrong to prevent things from happening. It may also be possible that the firmware update was a hack that was designed as act as malware and therefore programed to shutdown the pc when the eject button is pressed.

I have. When I press on remote, he shuts down. When I press on drive, he wont react. And I didnt find any eject hole. Should I unscrew him and try to find that eject hole?

It is not dvd drive on my pc, it is dvd player for tv. Maybe it was malware, but several people did same thing and their dvd players work just fine.

You are assuming the other people are actual consumers.

  7. I dont see why they wouldnt be. They just discuss that problem on local forum and put few links from some italian and polish forum where those files could be found.
But does anyone know how to restart dvd to state as it was when I bought it, or have firmware that they tested and would work on MTK clone?
