  1. Hey dear Community,

I'm expierencing very annoying problems with Sony Vegas 10 and 24fps material.
I am normally editing my video (24fps mp4) and in Vegas everything is working fine, even the playback works perfectly but after I rendered my video with exactly the same fps the frame overlaps extremly. At every movement you can see these annoying frame erros and the video is almost unwatchable.

I also tried to encode my video with other fileformats but the error keeps occuring.
I get this problem with every video with 24fps.

I would be very gratfeful if anyone could help me with this problem.

Probably because source is VFR - it's not meant to be edited

You can try converting to CFR with avisynth, but it doesn't always work

you are going to need the original 29.97fps source not the re-encoded stuff you are trying to use.

  6. I won't be able to get the 29.97fps source, because the material I use is an Anime share RAW.
I think it's reencoded, because it is aired with 29fps but should be 24/23,976fps.
Isn't there any way to encode the video without this frame errors?
Like I already said this problem only occurs when I'm using a 24fps source.
If I use another share RAW with 23,976, which is also reencoded, there are no problems.

  7. The other ones were probably CFR .

You can try converting this one to CFR, before importing into vegas , but it doesn't always work (may get sync issues or other problems)

    e.g

    Code:
    DirectShowSource("video.mkv", fps=23.976, convertfps=true)
    AssumeFPS(24000,1001)
Encode to a lossless intermedate like lagarith , huffyuv or ut video codec before importing into vegas. Make sure you have lots of spare HDD space, filesize will increase about 10x . This will also eliminated possible decoding errors by vegas (it sometimes has problems with some encoding settings of some videos)

    VFR is not edit friendly
