Trying to rip is giving me a DeCss error

Hi,

I'm trying to rip "The Patriot" (R.4, NTSC) with DVDx 1.8 frameserving for TMPGEnc, but it's not working.
Everytime I try to open the IFO file (the biggest), it gives me an error about DeCss error, and drive locked.
Does anyone know what could be happening, since it works fine with another DVD ("What women wat", in case).

I got the same error. It maybe something to do with the key search variable on the input page but I'm only guessing.

first, did you play the dvd in powerDVD/winDVD before trying to rip it?

if that doesn't work, try playing the dvd in powerDVD/winDVD and then pause it. then try ripping it with powerDVD/winDVD still open and paused....
