    It seems the most of the videos online are the Flash Video format but lots of video edit tools such as Windows Movie Maker are unable to open the FLV video. I have to convert the FLV to AVI before editing. But I saw the converted AVI quality was worse than the original FLV video. Is it because the AVI is not good for converting the FLV to AVI? If so, can you recommend a video format that can match the FLV quality after converting and can be accepted by the most of the video edit tools? Thank you.

    We still don't know what you're converting them to.

    AVI is a container format, not an encoding standard, so we have no way of knowing exactly what you're putting inside that container. What conversion software are you using and with what settings?
