  1. Hello. I have used powerdvd 11 to play a BDMV folder, it plays some folders, and other it wont play so its not a stable solution for me.

Therefor i have downloaded MPC HC cause it plays everything. I just got one very weird problem, the quality in mpc isnt as great as in PDVD. In PDVD i get that great bluray feel, not the artificial look that is caused by some tv settings, just a great bluray feel. I cant get that in mpc. All settings are completely the same (tv, catalyst control center) the only thing i have changed is im using MPC.

Try change the directshow renderer in mpchc, under options->output->playback. Try EVR, VMR-9, System default and see if you notice any difference.

  5. It has a weird way of playing some movies, and some it wont even load. Plus mpc is more stable, no lag or choppy frames. But guess i have to then.

  6. PowerDVD probably massages the picture: increased sharpness, decreased noise, increased saturation, and increased contrast. MPCHC has such filters in its shaders.

  9. MPC-HC with MadVR beats PDVD picture quality any day of the week. That's why I use it exclusively for all my BD ISO playback needs. Mad VR is easy to install and you WILL notice the difference.

  10. In my opinion players like PowerDVD corrupt the picture. Well produced material doesn't need to have the contrast stretched, the colors more saturated, the picture sharpened, or denoised. Get your system set up properly then watch the movies the way they were intended to be seen.
