  1. Hello I am just starting out and need some advice. I am wanting to take some of our families HI-8 video (s-video) and burn it to VCD or ??? I am looking at the Winnov Videum 1000 made for the Windows XP OS. What I need is what is the best software for doing what I intend to do. Best bang for the buck. Here is what I have in my PC.
    AMD 1333
    K7t266 Pro 2 mobo
    512 ddr
    40 gig ibm 7200rpm HD.
    Acer 24/10/40 burner

    Any help or advice would be helpful

    I've just been pretty much using whats available here in the HOW TO section.

    I capture the vdo first by using virtual dub as explained here:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/mjpeg.htm

    Then i convert it to MPEG using TMPEG:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

    And lastly i just use NERO to make the VCD.
