I need to buy a new camera before I go to Japan.

    prefery around 200-300

    no floppy disk models.

    Things i'm interested in.

1.) Picture Quality. Above all it must have good picture quality. Good color, high resolution. I will print out some and make VCD slideshows.

2.) I need it to take JPG images and TIFF images. I plan to buy 2, 128meg cards. When i'm touring i'll probally wanna do JPEG (but i want them to look great) when i'm with home stay i'd like to do TIFF and mail them back to myself.

3.) Battery life. I can bring a ton of batteries here from MD though, but still i want a good number of shots. Not be usin 20 batteries a day.

I'd also be nice if it was small.

    I don't need alot of menu's stuff.

  2. I have just bought a kodak DX-3600 2.2 megapixel camera in the uk for £229. Very pleased with it, good quality pictures, zoom lens and very simple to use. Also has a docking station which downloads pictures to pc via usb and charges the batteries.

  3. Personally I love the Olympus digital cameras. I have the D490Z, but the latest model is the D510 I believe. The one feature I really love is the panaromic mode which is very easy to use and makes great panaromic pictures. 3x optical zoom, 2.1mp, and if fairly small. Battery life is pretty good if you dont use the lcd screen.

  5. I would'nt advise you to go for anything under 2 megapixels, after that it all depends on how much money you want to spend.
