  1. Hi,

I haved Ripped and converted the movie ALIEN, used Smartripper, DVD2AVI, and Tmpgenc... The movie are NTSC 29.97-FILM, and I used the SVCD template 480x480, 29.97 and 2496 CBT..

I demultplex it with Tmpgenc and multiplex it with bbmpg so I could get 3 MPG file that is 800 mb...

When I burn it with nero I got the message that the file doesn't match the mpg spec (I get this some times but it work anyway).
When the CD is burned and I put it into my DVD player, the screen only shows up in the left corner on the TV, like it has the wrong resolution. I want it to fit the whole TV screen.

    What is wrong ??

    THX

You know I had this same problem (no one could tell me what was wrong) so I just stuck to 352 x 240 or 720 x 480 ( or multiples thereof) Worked fine after that--what DVD player are you using? Hope you find an answere--I would like to know too!

Is everyone converting to VCD ?

Help us out here ! Please...

  5. Why don't you just use the splitter in TMPGenc? Then you don't have to first demux then mux again. -Or even easier: when encoding the DVD file, use source range and batch-encode, to encode three files instead of one. I've never had any trouble with this. But then again, I've never had any troubles with files muxed with bbmpg either!?!

When burning with a resolution of 352x240 or 704x480, can you still watch it full screen with your DVD player?

  8. just or 480x480 which is the default resolution in tmpgenc. ... i had the same problem (my svcd was displaced onthe top left of my tv when played back). I just re-encoded it without tampering the resolution size ... i simply opened the right template and hit START! boom, it worked. Its because i didnt load up that "unloack.cmf" template which i did before. so dont load it up unless you are positive about it's ramifications.
