  1. When I try to convert a .mod to .dv in FFmpegX, it WILL NOT spit out a 16:9 video no matter what we do! So frustrating. Right now our workaround is to throw it back in MPEGstreamclip to convert it to 16:9 (we can't use this to go from .mod -> whatever because of this mpeg2 licensing problem at our school).
    ANY HELP IS SO APPRECIATED.

In the Video tab, check that Autosize is set to 16:9. If it isn't, then ffmpegX didn't get the 16:9 aspect ratio from the source file. You may override it, but that will also change the video size, so that needs to be manually set as well, in such a situation: 720x480 for NTSC (29.97 fps) or 720x576 for PAL (25 fps).
Tip: using the "DVD 16:9" autosize option will do these two steps in one go.
