Does anyone know which software to use to convert Quicktime MOV file to AVI with Windows Media Video 9 codec?
This is for the LED billboard advertising.
I've tried Adobe encoder and Total Video Converter, but I don't see WMV3 codec with AVI format.
    I use PC, Windows7.
    Please help...

I have downloaded VirtureDub.. but don't know exactly what to do with it..
It would not open quicktime mov or avi file...
    It keeps saying below message..
"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'xvid'
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

For an app to successfully work with various video, it has to have installed a number of things:
    For input...
    1. The app itself. (in this case, Virtualdub)
    2. a means to parse/demultiplex the container (in this case, the Quicktime input plugin for Virtualdub)
    3. a means to decode the video & audio (in this case, either Xvid, or maybe Quicktime itself, or others depending on what MediaInfo says is in the file, plus what's needed for audio...)
    Then for output...
    4. a means to encode the v+a (in this case, the WMV9VCM codec, plus whatever audio...)
    5. a means to multiplex the 2 streams into a new container (only AVI, as that is all Virtualdub is capable of right now)

You've got #1, but not #3, and not sure if you've correctly got #2. Since you haven't even gotten input to work, don't know how you stand on output, but you ought to have the WMV9VCM codec installed prior anyway.

Do those things first, then let us know how it goes...

    I have figured out.
I had to download and install Virtualdub, and ffdshow, virtualdub quicktime plugin and WMV9 VCM.
Finally converted it in right format with right codec.
    Thanks for the help!
