  1. Do anyone know if there is a program that can convert MPG files to PSX movie files, so that one can see video on a PSone???

  2. Why do that when you can just get the VCD attachment and play VCD movies on your PSone. If you have the old PS then I know that it exists, I am not sure about the little one though.

    >[*]_BonKerS_[*], Yes you are right, there does exist a new VCD internal card for the PSone, it is called
"D.I.Y Movie Card II" But i Live in Denmark and it is impossible to get this installed in this contrey, and I do not have enough knowledge to fittle with it myself.

With the first PlayStation, can you watch VCD's without the add-on?

puertorican138: No not really. The very first wave of Japanese psx releases did have vcd support but all later versions had the function removed. I seriously doubt you would be able to find one of these psx's with built in vcd support.

If you want to watch vcds on the psx you will have to buy either an internal vcd card or an external adapter.

To the others, its really not worth the effort to convert media files to .str (what the psx uses.) The compression is horrible, it may take more than 6 cdrs just for one movie. The quality is also quite bad, much worse than a vcd. Also playing these types of disks will drastically shorten the life of your psx's laser, but then again so will the vcd adapter. The psx is simply not designed to play vcds, thats why the support was removed in the first place.
