I have a problem with some mpg's I have downloaded. They play sound only in either Window Media Players or Realplayer. Neither player gives an error message. I am guessing there is some sort of codec missing. Is there a way to find out what codec is missing.

    Thanks,

Try dropping one into Gspot or MediaInfo. I suspect MPEG-2 might be your missing codec. Maybe try Stinkys MPEG2 Codec. Or you can always try playing it with VLC media player as it uses it own codecs. Windows doesn't come with a MPEG-2 codec.

    Redwudz,

You were right, I was missing the MPEG-2 codec. It now plays correctly.

    Thanks,
