Well...Some of the movies can be resized without loss of quality, this is what I have been learning for a while, but I don't really quite grasp the concept of it.

I have seen some of the movies encoded by some of the Chinese people. They are really awesome. A pal DVD, whose original size is 720 x 576, correct? But some people could resize it to 860 x 576 or something and the quality is still as good as the original one prior to resizing...I am just wondering how you guys could do that?

I have tried it but did not really succeed...I just resized it without doing any anomorphics or something. I hope you guys could shed light on this. Or at least get me some help...Really appreciate that.

normal dvd is 720x480 or 576 depending on ntsc or pal. the pixels are non-square. they are either 4:3 or 16/9. when 4:3 dvd is converted to square pixel mp4 type output it is 640x480 or 768x576. 16/9 ntsc is 854x480 and pal 1024x576. no mysteries there.

Not enough people coming to this forum understand the concept of Entropy!

Here's a link to what I mentioned just days ago...https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/338251-How-to-make-an-AVI-better-quality-%28keeping...=1#post2101907

Don't kid youself - you change something, you have to re-encode, you lose quality.

I know there are a few of the topics discussing the anamorphic resizing...But I am just wondering if you guys could tell me the proper way to do it with MEGUI. I heard some of the people said that we gotta have precise calculation about the Display Aspect Ratio. Some other people use Gordanknot to do the calculation...Anyway, I am a bit confused how you guys accomplish this.
