I've been using my Nero 8 Ultra to edit standard definition video recorded off of TV with my stand-alone Sony DVD recorder. When I import my VOB files into the Nero 8, they lose their 4:3 aspect ratio, and the picture becomes squashed and narrow, with large black bars on the right and left (see the screen shot I've attached). When I burn the finished product onto DVD, the picture retains that narrow appearance. Is this just some quirk with the Nero 8? How can I get my files to import and retain their 4:3 aspect ratio? I've tried using the re-coder that comes with the Nero 8, to recode the files into another format before importing, but they all turn out the same after importation.
How can I fix this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Robert

No. I use either SP 2 hour (120 minute) or LP 3 hour (180 minute) record settings.
