I am just now starting to get back into my routine of converting my DVD files to save space, plus to fit them on a single layer DVD. I have always used DVD Shrink, but is there anything easier to use? Or better in producing a good quality movie. I was looking into StaxRip or maybe SUPER. I would like to get some input on the best for today's use. Most of my converts in the old days were Xvid in the AVI container. For today, I can see the top 2 are MKV and MP4 containers. For me personally, the easier the better when it comes to converting. Something simple Thanks!

"Shrinking" a dual layer disc to a single layer disc leaves you with something that will play in a DVD player....so what are you going to play these MKV and MP4 things on?

I have a blu-ray player that plays pretty much everything. So playable content wont be an issue. Plus my TV has a USB connection that plays MP4, I don't know about MKV files.
