  1. I am about where I want with output quality, now when the mpg is viewed on the computer it looks good and I can see the whole thing. I take the disc to my DVD player on my TV and it looks like the image is too large. how do I adjust TMPGEnc so that my final output image is correct for my TV? Any help would be appreciated...thanks

video arrange method "full screen[keep aspect ratio]"
A better answer requires more details.

  3. I do have my encode set for full screen(keep aspect ratio)
My source aspect is set at 4:3 525 line ntsc(under advanced tab)
    for video tab:
    352x240
    4:3 525 line ntsc
Is that enough info or what exactly do you need for parameters, thanks

Is the image squashed or stretched?
it looks like the image is too large
Does it mean you can not see the whole picture on TV? How much is lost?
What a source file did you use? Sure, that source aspect ratio 4:3 is correct?

  5. Lets see if I can answer all your queries

the image does not look squashed or stretched, just too big like maybe I cant see about 5% around all borders on the TV.
My source file is an AVI downloaded of the net
my source says it is actually 4:3 625 pal upon closer exam...I dont know enough to know how that is affecting my final product
Thanks again, I really appreciate the help

  6. just an idea, try using the video arrange method in advance settings of TMPGEnc set at center(custom size) and change the size of the pixels to maybe 95% of 352 x 240 8)

I tried this once on an older version of TMPGEnc and it added borders, but my audio was a little out of sync, didn't have a clue how to fix this in mpeg file :P

    goodluck

All TV sets have a overscan area, that means you can not see the whole picture. Overscan area size varies from tv to tv.

Calculate the frame size with FitCD and use Center(custom size)
