Hi all,
My girlfriend has an Hitachi dz-gx3100 mini disc DVD camera. She has just bought a new iMac (OSX 10.6.8) and has no installation discs for the camera with supporting software etc. I read on a site that you need software and perhaps even a usb driver to get the footage onto the Mac. I want to put it into iMovie. I cannot though find a single link anywhere for any d-loadable software! I found one decent link on the Hitachi.ca site here: http://dvdcam-pc.support.hitachi.ca/en/download/dl.asp for models 'similar' but nothing for this particular model.
I think the software needed is called Pixe VRF Browser EX for DVDCAM but there doesn't seem to be a freebie d-load for it?
If anyone could advise I'd be really grateful. I usually use Adobe Premier for my editing on a PC but at the mo, i have no access to my machine and i am thinking of updating from my CS3 to CS5 and use my girlfriends Mac . . well, why not! it's much better than my old PC!
Thanks for any help you can give me. Also, do i need to install a usb driver? I have the cable but all i get when I plug her in to the mac is a message saying i have inserted a blank dvd disc and what do i want to do with it etc.. even on a finalised disc in the camera. It has no card in it so i just want to read off the finalised discs she's already filmed/burned, get them into the Mac and hopefully, then, into iMovie.
Thanks all
Beej
