I want to make a backup of my DVD with DivX 6.
Which avisynth filter do you recommend to clean this DVD source?
Here are the samples:
Sample 1 (Very noticeable in this scene)
Sample 2 (Medium)
Sample 3 (Less noticeable in this scene)
I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me which filters are suited for cleaning this type of source, and which one would you recommend.
Untill now, I only used a few of the most basic avisynth filters.

Check out Lato's wonderful MCTemporalDenoise. It's "high" setting would IMO get rid of all that noise without affecting detail too much. You can always push up the built-in LSFmod sharpener value to 250. Last edited by chowmein; 13th Jul 2011 at 18:38.

You should use Virtualdub Mpeg-2 and utilize the NDF filter by sergey. It's a nonlinear dynamic noise supressor, which should be the first on your filter chain. Why? Because it diminishes the noise substantially (keep clicking it until you get to highest setting). The second filter that should follow is the temporalsmoother (use 5 the highest, anything after that will cause motion artifacts). I'm sure that there are other filters that can help you out with this, but those two are definitely good starting points. See how it goes. Let me know!
