Burned the files with what ? Software and a PC ? DVD recorder ?

Did you test the files at the time of burning, or is this the first time you have tried to open them ?

Are you reading them on the same burner that burned the disc ?
    Read my blog here.

  4. Hello

This is very common with DVD-RW sometimes the data are not shown by Windows Explorer.

I recommend first and foremost not anything more serious on this disc that may preclude the recovery of data.
First try to run this disk on another computer or apparatus,
if that fails try using the "Restoration"in some cases it retrieves the files, or try to "get data back"
But there are many programs that retrieve lost data, but read the instructions on each one before excute them ok.

We need a lot more information to help. What software did you use to burn? What disc format (ISO, ISO+Joliet, UDF) did you use when burning? On older versions of Windows such as XP and earlier it is actually possible to burn UDF format discs that are fine, but Windows cannot see the disc without special drivers being installed. This should not be a problem on Vista and Windows 7. Did you close the session when writing? It is possible to not be able to see any files if the session was not closed. Unfortunately some burning software such as Nero defaults to multisession burns and you have to manually change this.

The free ImgBurn program can tell you if anything is on the disc. If you are not very experienced you may not understand what it tells you but it is possible to determine if there is already data on the disc and if it has not been closed. ISOBuster may also be helpful in doing this.

I do not consider re-writable DVD discs to be very reliable and I have seen them fail as early as the first write. I never put anything on a re-writable DVD disc that I cannot live without.

    Dear Rone and Jman98,

THanks a lot for your respond to my problem.
honestly i dont know exactly what happenned. i just inserted the DVD-RW to my pc driver and moved my files to this disc, there was no problem while moving and when its done, i went to look my files which i moved to this disc and i found my files completed there, i openned some files from there and its nothing wrong.

the next day i inserted this disc to see my files but there was no any files there, i cant see any files in this disc but when i see to the property, this disc's space is used.

    Rone,
i've tried to download "getdataback", but what is it mean by getdataback for FAT & NTFS? im not expert in this case and i really dont know about this.

    Jman,
I dont know, i just moved my files to this disc. really i dont know what i have to say now.

    Please help

    Regard's,

  7. FAT version is for devices like USB drives and CD storage systems less than 4gig, the NTFS system hard drives and storage systems larger than 4gig.
And be careful when handling these programs ok

You tried to run this disk on another computer or DVD Player?
    Sometimes it works.

    Dear Rone,
I've tried to run this disk to another computer but not to DVD Player yet, my files are mostly office work like excel and words.
actually i used this disk just for temporary as my Flash Disk is not enough to cover the size and i dont think that i will get problem by use dvd for my files.

do you think that excel/words file can be open in DVD Player?

  9. Excel files can not be opened in DVD player but some appliances strate the contents of the disk but not play.

The only information you have to get youto pass is about GetDataBack he is the best restorer of lost files that I know and very easy to use.

I've had similar problems and so I open a program like ImgBurn or Alcohool 120% and put the disk in the drive and then enter the program and tell him to read the records he had been trying to access data from the DVD-RW and sometimes works but can take several minutes.

But whether a DVD-RW counsel was not made for archival storage of value because many are fragile. I use but here are just for testing.

    Dear Rone,

I'm doing recover files by getdataback for FAT but after some minutes the is warning message "I/O Error 'Bad Command' reading sector 399617 on E:. Do you want to continue?"
and when i clicked yes to all then there is another msg:
"GetDataBack has not found any FAT file system
The most likely reason is, you are using the wrong version of GetDataBack.
we suggest you download GetDataBack for NTFS and scan your device again."

and i also did what they suggested by using GetDataBack for NTFS but same problem come.

    oh any other option?

  11. There are many programs that recover deleted or corrupted data, remembering that they are not 100%, there is another useful tool for this function is also the "v4 Recover My Files" with him you can scan either FAT or NTFS file and where it finds any files you can select for the extension will be recovered, there is another program that restores scratched discs he can copy what is readable and bypasses the damaged parts.
Try also the "CD Recovery Toolbox" he tries to recover lost data from CD and DVD media, but takes a long time to complete the process and also not 100% guaranteed.

Through programs is the basis of trial and error to test for it has many tools, but they are important or valuable data there are companies doing this recovery but it will cost dearly.

Ps: I recommend that you install ImgBurn, UltraISO and Alcohool120% and try to read through this disc accessing these programs at first slow to respond but can often resolve and you can access the data again.

rone, I hope you aren't advocating Warez, as that will get you banned here.

The full GetDataBack program is presently about $80US.

  13. No, I was not defending Warez, but to avoid problems I've edited my post, I do not want to be banned from this forum.
Thank you for alerting me, I'll be aware of the rules next time.

    Thank you.
