Hello all,
I have the following issue.
Using the Windows & video importing tool, which works great, I have saved all my DV and 8mm video tapes to dard drives. These files play perfectly using Windows media player.
I wanted to be able to view these on my TV using my Apple TV so using Handbreak I transcoded them to M4V. Most of them transcode fine, but quite a few didn't. Some of the files that didnt transcode are quite large, 20 gig in DV-AVI format. I tried using the "large files" option in handbreak, still didnt work
Handbreak appeared in most cases to go through the whole transcoding process with no issues, just the file it produced wasn't playable.
I then tried Super and it created unplayable files also.
If I open the DV-AVI in Adobe premier and export it as a DV-AVI then Handbreak will transcode it.
Does anyone have any idea what the issue is with trying to transcode from the original DV-AVI to the M4V might me??
Thanks in advance

Maybe the dv-avi is corrupt at the end but it still plays fine.
But I would try more converters and see how it works, try xmedia recode and freemake video converter. But I guess you will get same problem as most are based on ffmpeg. -
Its happening to around a 1/3 or them. I doubt the are all corrupt at the end. I have tried a few converters, but like yo suggest they all use the same engine.
