m4v > avi or mp4

Hi,

I'm new to FFmpegX, so bear with me. I'm having problems converting this one video file, it's a .m4v. I tried iSquint with no luck. When I try to convert it to an .avi file, it fails saying "Cannot find codec matching selected -vo and video format 0x696D7264." When I try to convert it to a .mp4 it says it is finished 5 seconds later, but the file is unusable. I've included the full text of the process info for both conversion types below.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

[Case]

Could it be that this is an DRM'ed video from an online store (like iTMS)? 'Cause those are made in a way so that you cannot convert them.

guess thats my problem too

asked something like that in other forum, but guess this is the answer...no m4v to dvd conversion of itunes downloads

so whats the point of buying anything from itunes if you can't watch it on anything but a computer???? that was rhetorical, unless steve jobs reads this forum lol
