  1. Hi there, i know abovemy topic is another similar, but no one answered to it anyways.

    Well.. heres my problem:

    Im converting from .avi to vcd, my .avi needed subs so i add them using Sub Station Alpha, well so far everything worked fine, i finished the subs ans on the preview filter video on Virtual Dub everything looks fine.

    Here's where i get stucked:
    "Click OK again and it brings you back to the Virtualdub Preview.
    Now Select Under Video->Full Processing.
    And now it's time to "Frameserve" the Video directly to TMPGEnc. IMPORTANT, before doing this you have to have installed the "handler" so go to the Virtualdubs folder and run auxsetup.exe and hit the button Install Handler and click OK. Exit it and it's done.
    Back to Virtualdub now and select File->Start Frame Server.
    A Frame Server Setup window appear, click Start and a save window appears, Save the file as anything.vdr.

    The Handler installation worked just fine, i wrote the extention .vdr myself and i saved the file, but after that a FrameServer Mode window appears and nothing ever happends. That window stays there for ever and theres no movement at all. i checked the folder where i saved the .vdr file, and there's one 48 bytes vdr file, is this normal? i mean, im working with a 500 megs avi.

    Well i tried to open that cdr file in TMPGE and it says "ILLEGAL STREAM FORMAT", so im sticked there.

    Please help me on this. i spend 1 week adding the subs to that movie.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    it is correct that your *VDR file will be small (as it only a pointer to a bigger file) and that there will be no movement. When you have loaded the file into another program (in your case TMPGEnc), and start to convert, then there will be movement.

    Did you install the VFApi plugin? If nothing works, then try opening TMPGenc two or three times (without closing the first TMPGEnc). Try to upload the *VDR file in all TMPGEnc programs. One of them should accept it. If it is accepted, then you can close the other TMPGEnc programs, except for the one with has loaded your file.

    I know that this is a very unconventional solution, but it worked for me when all other mothods failed. But first you should check the plugin.
