I occasionly save some crappy movies as a mpg only.

I use dvd shrink to backup the title only, change the iso extension to mpg and it plays fine.

However, when i add a few extra titles/music videos to the mix, it only backs up the main title. I have studied the re-authoring guides and don't feel I am doing anything wrong.

    Any tips?

    Thanks in advance

And you don't think you're doing anything wrong? Add the titles onto the left side of Shrink, reauthor it as a DVD (VOBs, not ISO), and then, if necessary, use VOB2MPG on it to get a real MPG.

    Problem still exists.

I reauthored the main title and 3 extra segments, disabled "split vob into 1G files", and it left me with 4 different vob files. Now I will have to use any converter to merge them.

Is it possible to reauthor the main title and the extras into one single file and play it on my computer. I don't care if it is vob or mpg...as long as it plays.

With most of my favorite dvd's, i back them up to a dvd and that leaves a iso file on my computer...so why not change the extension to mpg and have a copy on my pc...that is why I was burning as iso.

If I have to rip, then merge several vob files it is really not worth the extra time...I was just looking for a way to rip to a single file.

    Thanks again

ps, as stated, i backup most of my good stuff to dvd, this is only for "class c" videos so having the purest high quality picture/sound is not important to me.

Instead of playing VOBs, you could play it as a DVD. Anyway, you've only done half the work. The next step is to load the VOBs into VOB2MPG and it'll make a single MPG file out of it.

Yeah, as I mentioned earlier, VOB2MPG. However, you could probably do the whole thing in one step by loading all the VOBs into VOB2MPEG to begin with, the ones from all the different titles. I think you'll have to renumber a lot of them so they're all consecutive.
