As this is my first attempt to reauthor, I need some help.

Due to a failure, my DVD-recorder never finalized the disc. As proposed in this forum, using Isobuster and extracted the content, resulting in a *.bin file. Burned it as an image and did get a mpg-file as result. But burning it directly (the *.mpg) lead to a problem playing it on a standalone player. Tried different conversion software, but I'm not able to convert the file.

Could someone please lead me to a solution?

    Thanks in advance

Have you tried add it on an authoring tool, Tmpgenc dvd author, guifordvdauthor, dvdstyler, dvd-lab, etc? See our Tools section for Authoring(DVD).

If you have tried that PLEASE give us more information, what error do you receive and what tool(s) have you tried? You might have to repair the mpg with for example VideoRedo using the Quickstream Fix.

Its quite possible some navigation instructions where not completed.
Use Isobuster to copy the ifo, bub and vob files to your hard drive.
Check navigation with PGCEdit, correct and confirm your "new" disc plays on your computer then burn with IMGBURN. Worse case you may have to rip the mpeg and audio from the vob files (PGCDemux )and rebuilt them adding chapters etc using suitable authoring applications, Nero for example...

Of course everyone has their favourite software for these tasks, these are just possible examples...
