I have a region B bluray of scream 4 that i got off ebay, i was wondering how i should go about ripping this? Should i leave it at 24fps or make it 23.976?

Here is what mediainfo shows on the m2ts of the movie.

If i were to make it 23.976 how would i do this using megui?
I can't see to find an option to change the framerate, also how much would i have to delay the audio?

  2. I've encoded quite a few 24fps Bluray movies as both HD MKV and standard definition AVI, and never had an issue with them playing using a Bluray or DVD player.

I guess it's possible if the refresh rate doesn't match the frame rate as it should you might end up with the odd dropped or skipped frame, but it's probably not much of an issue. I don't actually know how players handle 24fps video if they're not running in (or are capable of) some sort of 24p mode. Maybe they just play it at 23.976fps anyway? Someone else may know.....

In my case I generally use a PC for video playback and use Reclock to adjust the video speed, and as I live in PAL-land I get Reclock to speed all video up to 25fps and use a 50Hz refresh rate. Everyone else in the house uses standalone players though, and I'm yet to hear a complaint because one of my 24p encodes wouldn't play.

You wouldn't be delaying the audio, you'd be stretching it, quite a different (and more difficult to accomplish) thing. This is a non-issue. Leave the framerate alone.

On my Samsung DVD/Divx player, 24p plays back fine, but navigation within the file is non-operational.
Also, once you start to watch, you have to watch it all the way through; if it's interrupted it restarts at the beginning.

23.976p works fine. FF/RW, skip, "goto", etc, etc.
