  1. I have a Pioneer DV-343, works great for VCD and SVCD's burned with Nero. The only problem I have is, I cannot get it to repeat.

I have a "demo" SVCD that I would like to play continuously, e.g. play the whole disk and then start over automatically. Does not seem to work. Repeat button on the remote does nothing.

Any hints on how to make this work? or is it not possible?

    Thanks for any info.

  3. You can do this easily and for free with VCDImager. Your disc has to have PBC, and the "next" reference for the video just has to point to itself (or if you have chapters, the last should point to the first).

    dougv,

If you burn the file with Ulead VideoStudio it will continuously loop.
Nero burns tracks, so once the track has played it stops.

Personally, I use VideoStudio 6.0. you can try it at www.ulead.com

I also have the exact same player, Pioneer DV-343, so I'm not advising you on video theory or expressing an opinion. This continuous loop is one of the little surprise features that comes in handy with VideoStudio.

Nero is nice also because if you do have multiple video tracks on a CD you can just go directly to that video track just like you would access a regular music CD.

    Hope this will help you.

  5. Thanks for the info.

I will have to try VCDimager first - GPL *AND* runs on linux!

You can make SVCDs that were burned with Nero repeat on the Pioneer, just don't hit play button to start it, hit the next (>>) button. Now you'll find that repeat works. It will go repeat track, repeat disc etc.

Let me know if it works for your setup. I've done this hundreds of times.
