  1. Everytime I encode something with TMPEG it never seems to detect it has finished the file. It hits the 0 time left to complete, but I can let it run forever and it never seems to finish. I end up having to hit the stop button and that seems to lock up the program and the only way to exit it is to cntrl alt delete out of it.

The file turns out good, but it is a pain to exit that way. I know I have to be doing something wrong, but what is it? Shouldn't I get a dialouge box saying the file is completed or something? Do I need to tell TMPEG to close the file when finished someplace in options?

You are not doing anything wrong except hitting the stop button. The process of encoding involves complex calculations handled by the processor and finally writing the output to file(s). While the time remaining will go to 0, that is just to signal that the actual encoding has completed. The output file(s) which were being written during the encoding process also have to be completed. Watch the encoding time not the time remaining. You will see that even though the time remaining goes to 0, the running time still is accumulating. It is only when the output files are complete that this counter will stop and the process will be complete. Hitting the stop button prior to completion can actually result in the output files not being completed and therefore may not even appear as being written. If the stop button is pressed close to the end of the process, it will normally complete and your files will be intact. IT DOES HOWEVER SEEM TO TAKE FOREVER UNTIL THE FILE WRITE PROCESS IS COMPLETE, JUST BE PATIENT. You can tell when TMPGEnc has completed the job by observing the START button. It is greyed out while TMP is running.
