I backed up a SL disk and it does create a disk with the menus and main movie,no extras, but it forces you to burn to disk. There is no option to save to the HD. Most BD's are dual-layer and won't fit on a BD25 even without the extras. This program needs an option to save to the HD. You could them compress that directory with BDrebuilder to fit on a BD25.

  2. Change the settings in imgburn:

Name:	Untitled.png
Views:	474
Size:	91.1 KB
ID:	4977

Click on the red highlight and it changes imgburn so that it will build an iso file instead of burning to a disc.

  3. Yeah, here's what the author says in the Doom9 thread:

This is an option you need to set in ImgBurn. Something like 'Build' rather than 'Write' in the menu bar.

Thanks for the replies. I made the ISO and extracted it with Winzip to a BR directory so BDrebuilder could read it. Unfortunately BDrebuilder doesn't like the truncated files BD Copier makes as I get an encoder failure as soon as it encounters a file created by BD copier. I went the other way using BDrebuilder first to create an oversized (29Gb) directory. I ran that thru BD Copier and wound-up with a 20GB directory that could be burned on a BD25.

  5. I've been meaning to try it for some time.

Anyway, I have it up at the moment. Preview was a bit sticky, I had to download it again and reboot, but it's okay now. I *think* I understand how it works.

I'm wondering if using tsMuxer mode might fix the problem of BDRB choking on the files. Did you use tsMuxer mode? BTW, switch to tsMuxer and there's a HDD output option.

The author says this about tsMuxer mode:

"Basically the tsMuxeR mode will now remux every MPLS in the movie (especially relevant for seamless branching). This also includes a new tool Clown_BD MPLS Builder, which will go along and create a new MPLS file (based on the original one) adjusted for the new timecodes & STN table changes relevant for 'blanked' primary audio streams."

I'll try a full run-through tonight and see how it goes when I feed it to BDRB.

No I did not use TSmuxer mode. I opened it and notice an option called "Core",what is that? I have tried TSmuxer mode and it does allow you to create a directory on the HD via a batch file. I tried three different methods and could not get rid of the extras using TSmuxer mode. If your goal is to eliminate the extras TSmuxer mode doesn't seem to be the answer.

  7. I'm pretty sure "Core" means core audio, but I'll have to double-check.

Okay, my first try it copied the entire disc in tsMuxer mode. I've gone through all the entries more carefully and am trying again. The only things checked are menu entries and the video, audio (DTS-MA) and one sub stream in the first *.mpls listed, showing correct runtime.

  8. Alright, got menu and movie only this time in tsMuxer mode. To repeat, I deselected all, then selected menu entries, then expanded the first playlist with correct runtime. I selected only the video, audio, and one subtitle stream, *not* the *.mpls playlist file itself. It plays correctly in TME. When I try to select an extra in the menu, it just reloads the menu. So they're gone.

I can see that if we couldn't get it working correctly the first attempt, that a newbie would have quite a time with this.

Now what remains to be seen is if BDRB will choke on it. I'm starting it now.

Tried your method as my 4th atemtp and it worked, got menu and movie,no extras. The movie I'm using is Resident Evil-Afterlife. The movie has 3 playlists. I just opened it in BDrebuilder and we'll see.

BDrebuilder didn't choke,it converted the TSmuxer directory without any problem.

  11. Good deal, mine just completed the first encoding pass okay, so I think I'll just shut it down and do my usual movie-only backup.

I think I'll do a review of Clown_BD BD Copier, but I'm not sure yet how to assess it. It's deceptively simple, but easy to screw things up. I won't say it's counter-intuitive, but you need to closely study every selection you make. The preview function is primitive. The program is a little, hmm, "sticky", first the preview wouldn't work, then selecting a different destination drive didn't take without a reboot.

Now I'm wondering how well it will work to selectively blank extras, kinda like VobBlanker, and if it will remap properly.

Anyway, hey, it's nice to have this in one's toolbox. I admire the folks who put so much work into freeware.
