    What is the (1080p) best camera for recording to a external hard drive (USB) something like this (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=440). Is their a camera that can do this?

    The higher priced Sony HD consumer camcorders have a feature called Direct Copy. Depending on the model, you record to the internal hard drive or flash memory. Then connect an external USB hard drive directly to the camera and you can dump all the video to the external drive.
