I have used ShowBiz DVD 2 a number of times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A lot of the time when it comes to the Authoring phase of creating the DVD an error message comes up "Failure writing the disc". I've noticed that this error has been discussed previously on this forum. I'm in the understanding it has something to do with the DLL but, that's about as far as I know.

Could someone out there please help me get this problem solved.

    Thanks.

  2. Here's Help.

Use IMGBURN. It works. Stop screwing with software that doesn't.

What you will need to do is stop your program before burning, and just use the authored files. However, a prog that has a known issue with something as simple as burning and hasn't fixed it for a while is not something I'd waste any more time on unless it did something that no other prog did, and I'm pretty sure this one doesn't.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't thing IMGBURN will do all that I want. I'll explain a bit more detail. I am dealing with moreso picture files and not video files. I am trying to load them onto a DVD with multiple menus and other effects. These DVDs are intended to be viewed on normal DVD players with TV. I have tried a variety of different video editing software and have found that ShowBiz offers the most in this regard - especially ease of use. It is in the authoring section of the burn where the error comes up. If I could get the video files authored, I would then be able to use other software to actually burn them. At the moment, I'm at a loss and am going to have to further my endeavours to correct this error somehow.

  4. I doubt many here have even heard of that program, much less actually used it. I know I haven't. But, authoring is a process distinct from burning. Your error message points to a burning problem. If the authoring has completed and you can play it using a software DVD player, one such as PowerDVD, then you can burn using ImgBurn as Nelson37 suggests. If it's really an authoring problem, as you say, the error message sounds misleading to me. And since it's an Arcsoft program, I have trouble believing it's the best program available for what you're doing. Anyway, have you tried their tech support?
