I'm transfering video from my camcorder a Samsung SC-D372 onto my computer which runs on Vista with a 64bit processor. The video transfers well via firewire cable but the audio doesn't (sounds glitchy.) I can hear the audio well out of the camcorder as i'ts transfering to the pc....I've tried using several programs and got a new fire wire cable and it still does the same thing...ANy suggestions? could it be the transfer audio transfer speed? Please help.

Did you try WinDV for capture?

Does the video play smoothly? What are you playing it with? Try VLC ?

MiniDV audio is uncompressed PCM at either 16bit 48KHz (stereo) or 12bit 32KHz (4 channel). It shouldn't be difficult to play.

  3. check the cam's settings and make sure they have the audio setting at 16 bit/48 khz, but samsung cams are notorious for being "out of the box" and not complying with standards. it doesn't surprise me at all. if windv doesn't produce acceptable results, start complaining to samsung.

there are no transfer speeds other than at normal playback - realtime.
