    Hey,

I made a post about shrinking down a 1080p mkv to fit on a dvd5, I decided to use 720p based on recommendations here, and by looking up specs on existing mkv encodes I have, based on length of video and filesize.

The video is currently encoding now, and it's been going for over 2 days, for around an 80 min video.
I am doing the extreme quality setting with 2 pass encoding, and it opens a dos like window and encodes the frames at 0.01fps.
Now it has opened a gui type window, and it's doing a pass 1 AND a pass 2 there, and a lot faster, 20 or so fps for pass 1, and 5 fps for pass 2. What was the purpose of the dos like window that took 40 or so hours?

My PC specs are 3.2ghz intel quad core, 3GB of ram, and I have been using the PC like normal while it's been encoding, but that still seems REALLY long for one movie even on extreme quality setting.

These are my settings in AutoMKV. (I'm leaving the audio in the files as-is, just going to mux it together after)
