  1. I am trying to convert DVD to mkv, and have followed instructions as well as I can (I think!), but after the conversion is finished, there is no mkv file.

I have attached the log... Can anyone see where I'm going wrong?

I'm using vista ultimate 64-bit, running automkv as admin

    Have you installed avisynth?

Or else try handbrake to convert to mkv.

  3. Thx for the reply... Yes I have avisynth installed, and I have just tried handbrake, and although the video comes out perfect, subs are hard-coded, and I want them soft-coded (apparently handbrake doesn't support this yet)

Easier way to get dvd to mkv is VOB2MPG then uncropmkv.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  5. Well, I loaded megui, and it updated some of my video stuff, including the x264 codec, and it seems to be working... possibly! Currently doing stuff it didn't do before, so fingers crossed!

  6. Ok, I'm having the same problem again...

Whole process is only taking 5 minutes, so obviously the actual x264 conversion isn't working... Any further ideas?
