  1. It seems that XSVCD is a great format because it is DVD resolution, but will still play on many standalone DVDs. For example, my pioneer will play XSVCD but not the mini-DVDs...

    I will be "capturing" the video from a DV camera, so it is already the 720x480 resolution. And I would like to use the tools I already have (Ulead VideoStudio 5, Roxio Easy CD Creator 5, TMPGEnc).

    Can I use videoStudio to create a DVD mpeg2 file and then somehow make that an XSVCD? That would simplify things greatly...

    Sorry, see lots of info on everything but XSVCD...

  2. forgot to mention, I have the DVD Plug-In, so creating the DVD mpeg is easy...

    Save your videostudio job like a NTSC 720X480 MPEG2 file. Then use the Ulead DVD Moviefactory (free trial for 1 month) http://www.ulead.com/dmf/trial.htm

    When you open the MPEG2 file, the DVD moviefactory will suggest the XSVCD format and you will get it.
